The North Lancashire Bat Group is affiliated with the Bat Conservation Trust and is run by volunteers drawn from a wide range of backgrounds.
The North Lancashire Bat Group aims to:
- To help to conserve bats and their habitat.
- To provide information for improving public awareness of bats and their conservation.
- To record and monitor the bat species and their populations in Westmorland and Furness area
- To assist English Nature with roost visits where threats to bats may exist.
- To carry out conservation projects such as bat box schemes, improving roost sites or opening and protecting potential sites.
- A regular newsletter is produced and informal meetings and talks arranged throughout the year.
The North Lancashire Bat Group can organise field trips, educational and social events throughout.
